Scented candles require occasional light maintenance to get the most out of your candle. Here are some tips to burn your candles properly, safely and for a long time! If you have any further questions after reading this information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
TIP 1: [ BURN & MELTING]
Allow the top layer of the candle to liquefy completely to avoid creating a hole in your candle. It would be a shame if you still had candle wax residue on the side of your candle. An extra tip to prevent this is to let the top layer melt completely when you light the candle for the first time! And don't blow it out very quickly otherwise you will get a 'tunnel effect'.
TIP 2: [ IN SIGHT ]
Never leave a candle unattended. This goes without saying, but always burn the candle safely in plain sight!
TIP 3: [MAXIMUM BURN TIME]
If you burn the candle for too long in a row, the flame will become larger and the wick will become more exposed (e.g. the wick will form a lump at the top), causing the wax to melt faster than necessary and it may start to smoke a little more. That is why we recommend burning for a maximum of 4 hours in a row!
TIP 4: [TRIM YOUR wick]
This may sound a bit crazy, but because you keep the wick short, the flame is smaller and the candle melts more quietly and slowly. The bigger the flame, the faster the wax evaporates. Therefore, cut the wick to a maximum of 5-10 mm before burning it. Use a wick trimmer or cut off a piece before lighting the candle. This is certainly not necessary every time, but if you notice that the fuse is longer or is starting to hang crooked!
